Performance test report

Conformation:
Glenfiddich VDL is a well-developed stallion with more than sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation and a slightly downhill body direction. The head is more than sufficiently attractive. The poll has more than sufficient length with a slightly heavy head-neck connection. The neck has good length, shape, and muscling. The wither is sufficiently developed and has good length. The shoulder is straight and has more than sufficient length. The back has good length and muscling. The loin has good muscling and is well connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. There is more than sufficient length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock. The front leg is correct. The hind leg is a fraction straight. The pasterns are straight and short. The legs are well developed and of moderate quality. The hooves are of good shape and quality. 

Lineage:
Glenfiddich VDL is by Bacardi VDL (Corland x Kannan x Jasper), who as a seven-year-old was the reserve champion at the World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken. Glenfiddich VDL's dam Tolivia VDL, an elite preferent mare by Corrado I, earned high scores in the mare test. She is also the dam of a 1.30m jumper by Mr. Blue. Glenfiddich VDL's granddam Nolivia, a Nimmerdor daughter, earned the keur and preferent predicates. She also produced a 1.35m jumper by Robin Z. Glenfiddich VDL's great-granddam Olivia Rouge is a ster preferent prestatie mare by Jalisco B out of the French mare Verboise (s.Centaure du Bois). Olivia Rouge, a full-sister to the internationally renowned jumper sire Papillon Rouge, is also the dam of the Selle Français stallion Dragon Rouge (s.Thoas du Theilet) as well as a 1.30m jumper by Ahorn and a 1.35m jumper by Oramé. 

Performance Test Report:
Glenfiddich VDL is an honest and reliable stallion with a good temperament. He is very willing to work and has good trainability. Glenfiddich VDL has a good mouth. The walk has sufficient to more than sufficient scope. The trot has more than sufficient scope. The canter is powerful with good scope but slightly slow. The stallion moves with more than sufficient body position and balance. Glenfiddich VDL jumps with more than sufficient to good reflexes and elevates the wither well. The stallion jumps with inconsistent front leg form but generally completes his jump well with his hind end. He appears careful and demonstrates abundant to very abundant scope. Glenfiddich VDL shows abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a good feeling.  

Stable Behavior:
Glenfiddich VDL is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.  

Veterinary Report:
On October 21, 2014, the stallion was observed to have swollen lymph nodes and stocked-up legs. These symptoms subsided after several days of treatment with hydrotherapy and fever-reducing medication.  

Semen Inspection:
Expected fertility class: good.

Glenfiddich VDL can add size and scope to jumper breeding.

Dam Viewing Report: 
Tolivia VDL is a more than sufficiently developed mare with more than sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation as well as nobility and presence.  
The head is attractive with a nice large eye.
The poll has good length with a good head-neck connection.
The neck has good length, shape, and muscling.
The wither is more than sufficiently developed with sufficient length.
The shoulder has good length and placement.
The back has good length and muscling.
The loins are broad and well muscled.
The croup has sufficient length and good placement.
There is more than sufficient length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock.
The front leg is correct.
The hind leg is straight.
The front pasterns are correct, but the hind pasterns are weak. 
The hooves are well developed and of good quality.

Due to an injury sustained during foaling, the mare could not be evaluated for movement.
As a three-year-old, Tolivia VDL was invited to the free-jumping national championship of the Netherlands, in which she placed fourth.

The mare also passed the five-week EPTM test with the following scores: walk: 8, trot: 6.5, canter: 8, suitability as a dressage horse: 7; jumping: push: 8.5, form: 8.5, scope: 8, suitability as a jumper: 8.5, total: 78.5 points.

Glenfiddich VDL showed a uniform collection of well-developed foals with sufficient rectangular-conformation and a strong topline. The head is attractive. The neck has good length, shape, and muscling. The back has good length and muscling. The front leg is slightly toed-out. The hind leg is correct but slightly long. The legs are well developed and solid. The walk has sufficient scope and elasticity. The trot has more than sufficient scope and elasticity, with a somewhat pushing hind leg. The canter has more than sufficient to good power, scope, elasticity, and balance.
