Performance test report

Conformation:
Good Fellow VDL is a more than sufficiently developed stallion with more than sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation. The head is not very attractive. The poll has sufficient length. The neck has sufficient length, shape, and muscling. The wither is more than sufficiently developed and has good length. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has good length and muscling. The loin is tight. The croup is sloped and has good length and more than sufficient muscling. There is more than sufficient length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock. The front leg is correct when viewed from the side, but the right front is toed-out when viewed from the front. The hind leg is long and behind the mass. The pasterns are correct and have good length. The legs are well developed and of good quality. The hooves are of good shape and quality.

Lineage:
Good Fellow VDL is by Baloubet du Rouet, who has won the World Cup several times. Good Fellow VDL boasts a very interesting dam-line. His dam Eolysca is by Jalisco B (H.Almé Z x Furioso xx) out of the Uriel daughter Theo. Eolysca is a full-sister to the Selle Français stallion Gin Tonic Star, an international show jumper under Spain's Pascal Levy. Good Fellow VDL's granddam Theo is also the dam of the international show jumper Kire Royal Star (s.Royal Feu), ridden by Roger-Yves Bost. Good Fellow VDL's great-granddam Ballerine III is a daughter of the English Thoroughbred Rantzau xx out of the Anglo Arabian mare Manuela x (s.Labrador xx). This direct dam-line has produced several Grand Prix show jumpers and approved stallions, including Itot du Chateau (s.Le Tot du Semilly), ridden by Edwina Tops-Alexander. 

Performance Test Report:
Good Fellow VDL is an honest and reliable stallion with a more than sufficient to good temperament. The stallion is very willing to work and has sufficient trainability, but is inconsistent in the contact. The walk has more than sufficient scope. The trot has sufficient to more than sufficient scope. The canter has sufficient to more than sufficient scope, but needs better carriage. The stallion moves with sufficient body position but needs better balance. Good Fellow VDL jumps with more than sufficient reflexes. The stallion still has difficulty rocking back before a jump, which compromises his form. Good Fellow VDL has more than sufficient to good leg form and completes his jump well with his hind end. He should use his body more overall. Good Fellow VDL appears careful and shows more than sufficient to abundant scope. He demonstrates more than sufficient talent as a jumper and gives his rider a sufficient to more than sufficient feeling. 

Stable Behavior:
Good Fellow VDL is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall. 

Veterinary Report:
On October 21, 2014, the stallion was observed to have swollen lymph nodes, stocked-up legs, and a fever. These symptoms are consistent with a viral infection and were resolved with hydrotherapy, walking, and medication. 

Semen Inspection:
Expected fertility class: sufficient. 

Breeding Recommendation:
Good Fellow VDL is a genetically interesting stallion who can add scope to jumper breeding.

Performance test scores

Offspring report

Good Fellow VDL showed a collection of good developed, appealing jumping foals. The head is expressive. The neck is often vertically positioned. The hindleg stance is variable, generally correct, but also some upright and sickle hindlegs were found. The walk is correct and sufficient to more than sufficient in length. The trot is sufficient in length but varying in impulsion, elasticity and balance. The canter is in general sufficiently powerful, more than sufficient in length and balance but should have more elasticity.
