Performance test report

Koning has been approved on the advice of the re-examination committee on 7-12-2018:
The three-year-old son of Governor was not entered in the studbook after the last autumn investigation. After inspection of all relevant documents and after hearing the chairman of the stallion approval committee Bert Rutten, training leader Henk Hammers and senior inspector Wim Versteeg, the re-examination committee decided to approve the stallion at the KWPN.

Conformation:
Koning is a well-developed long-lined and appealing stallion with a good rectangular model. The head is expressive with a nice eye. The neck has good length with a correct head-neck connection. The neck is slightly horizontal, good in length and more than sufficient muscling. The shoulder is good in length and a little straight in position. The withers are well developed and of good length. The back has good length, good shape and good muscling. The loins have good length, good muscling and are well connected. The croup is slightly sloping, of good length and good muscling. The hamstring is more than sufficient in length. The foreleg is correctly positioned. The hindleg is correctly positioned, a bit long. The pasterns have good length, but are straight in both the front and hind pasterns. The foundation is well developed and of good quality. The hooves are narrow, well developed, of good quality and a fraction uneven. The heels are well developed and slightly different in height.

Descendant:
Koning comes from the first year of offspring of Governor. Governor won the silver medal at the World Dressage Horse Championships in Ermelo in 2017 and 2018 under Adelinde Cornelissen and recently made his successful debut at the Small Tour level. His father Totilas has left an indelible impression in dressage. Under Edward Gal he was almost unbeatable at the highest level, they were European champion, won the WEG and the World Cup. The elite IBOP-dressage D-OC-mare Gucci Boa T is the mother of Koning and she got several eights during her IBOP. Dam's sire of Koning is Johnson-son Bretton Woods, who won bronze at the World Dressage Horses World Championships when he was five years old. Under Matthias Alexander Rath, Bretton Woods has started internationally successfully in the Inter I. Grandam Bolivia Top T is an elite sport-dressage PROK daughter of the licensed stallion Florencio. Just like herself, some of her half-brothers and sisters also performed at Z2 level or higher. Van Tango and Valdez brought their dam Topic elite preferent performance sport-dressage PROK (by Goodtimes) a Z2 horse and from Flemmingh and Rousseau ZZ-Licht horses. She is also the grandmother of the Light Tour horse Dance on Jazz (by Jazz) and Z horses of Rhodium.

Performance report:
Koning is an honest and reliable stallion with a good attitude. The stallion has a lot of willingness to work and can be worked with easily by his rider. The walk is regular and should have more flexibility, length and shoulder freedom. The trot has more than sufficient to good space with a hindleg which should step under the body more resolutely and carry more. The canter has more than sufficient space but the hindleg should be more under the mass. Koning moves with more than sufficient to good flexibility, more than sufficient to good posture and more than sufficient balance. Koning has more than enough talent for dressage and gives his rider a more than sufficient feeling.

Stable behaviour:
Honest and reliable stallion, easy in handling and calm in the stable.
