Performance test report

Conformation:
Odeer is a sufficiently developed stallion that stands well in the rectangular model and shows sufficient Gelders type expression. The head is sufficiently expressive, somewhat long. The neck is of good length with a correct head-neck connection. The neck is of good length and muscling but is placed vertically. The shoulder is of good length and well positioned. The withers are well developed but should flow more smoothly. The back is of good length and well-muscled. The loins are well-muscled and well connected. The croup is straight, sufficiently long, and well-muscled. The hindquarters should extend further. The foreleg is correctly positioned both from the side and from the front. The hindleg is correctly positioned. The pasterns in front and behind are of more than sufficient length and correctly set. The foundation is well developed but should be somewhat drier. The hooves are well developed, of good quality, with well-developed heels.

Pedigree:
Both the sire of Odeer, the KWPN-recognized Astor son Atze, and his dam Zeronica have been successfully competed in Grand Prix dressage by Odeer’s breeder, Anouk Noordman.
Zeronica is a Gelders-registered elite PROK sport-dres mare from Talos (Manno x Wilhelmus). Granddam Teronica G.W. is a harness horse registered studbook mare from Harald (Wouter x Pygmalion). The damline continues with the ster mare Neronica, a daughter of Heineke out of Heronica, a keur preferent prestatie mare from Zilverster out of the keur preferent Hoogheid mare Weronica. In combination with Saffraan, Heronica also produced the Grand Prix horse Zeron, ridden by Heather Cumming from Great Britain.

Performance Test Report under saddle:
Odeer is an honest and reliable stallion with much eagerness to go forward. The stallion shows strong willingness to work and is easy to handle under the saddle. The walk is active, has good scope, and sufficient suppleness. The trot is active, shows much push-off, and has good scope, with the hindleg stepping well under and showing good carrying capacity. The stallion has attractive foreleg technique with much lift from the forearm. The canter is active, powerful, uphill, and of good scope. In movement, Odeer shows much self-carriage and good balance. In tension, the stallion carries his neck vertically, while in relaxation, the neck is well carried and the stallion shows good use of the back.
When jumping, Odeer shows a good to very good attitude, sufficient technique, and appears sufficiently careful. The stallion seems to have sufficient to good aptitude for jumping.
In the cross-country phase, Odeer shows much eagerness to go forward and is quickly distracted by his surroundings. Odeer gives his rider a more than sufficient feeling both indoors and outdoors.

Performance Test Report in harness:
In harness, Odeer shows very strong willingness to work and is very easy to handle. In harness work, Odeer shows much attitude and eagerness. The walk is active, more than sufficient to good in scope, and sufficiently supple. The trot has much scope, much activity, push-off, and very strong leg technique. In trot, Odeer also shows very good use of the hindleg. The canter is active, with good scope, good balance, and shows much strength and push-off. Odeer presents an appealing picture in harness work, with very good posture and agility. In the cross-country phase, Odeer shows much eagerness to go forward, is focused on the driver, and in unfamiliar situations he gives his driver a very good feeling. The overall impression as a harness horse is very good.

Stable Behavior:
An honest and reliable stallion, easy to handle and quiet in the stable.

Breeding/Pairing Advice:
The interestingly bred Odeer can improve movement technique and posture in the Gelder population, and can also improve eagerness, agility, and attitude in breeding Gelder horses for harness sport.

Zeronica is a sufficiently developed mare that stands well in the rectangular model with somewhat harness-type expression.
The head is long with a convex profile line.
The neck is of good length with a light throatlatch.
The neck is vertically placed, of good length, and heavily muscled on the underside.
The withers are well developed but should extend further.
The shoulder is slightly upright in placement and of good length.
The back is slightly dipped, of good length, and well-muscled.
The loins are somewhat tight and well connected.
The croup is short, somewhat straight, well-muscled, with a high tail set.
The hindquarters are of good length.
The foreleg is correctly positioned from both the front and the side.
The hindleg is correctly positioned.
The pasterns, both front and hind, are short and upright.
The hooves are well developed, of good quality, with correctly developed heels.
The foundation is well developed and of good quality.
The walk has sufficient scope and sufficient suppleness.
The trot has sufficient scope, with good self-carriage and a well-engaging hindleg.
The canter is powerful, uphill, of good scope, and shown with good self-carriage.
