What a final, what a combination: as last one on the starting list, Ben Maher just placed himself for the six-headed jump-off in the individual final! His phenomenal Explosion W did just what everyone expected: jump clearly.

So much was going on in this individual final. Jumping mistakes for tipped favorites like Martin Fuchs/Clooney and Daniel Deusser/Killer Queen, while Scott Brash and Hello Jefferson incurred time penalties. Refusals for Jerôme Guery and Quel Homme de Hus and Niels Bruynseels and Delux T&L, making it not the individual final as hoped for for our southern neighbours.

Ben Maher kept his head cool with the phenomenon Explosion W (Chacco Blue out of Uarina ster sport-spr prest by Baloubet du Rouet, bred by Willy Wijnen from Berlicum). A little luck here and then helped them remain the 0 on the penalty board in this Olympic final.

In the jump-off:

- Ben Maher and Explosion W

- Maikel van der Vleuten and Beauville Z

- Malin Baryard-Johnsson and Indiana

- Peter Fredricson and H&M All-In

- Daisuke Fukushima and Chanyon

- Henrik von Eckermann and King Edward
