Two-time Olympic participant Carthago (s Capitol I) is on the books as the sire of Cartano. In 2004 Carthago had a Zuchtwert jumping index of 159 (rel 97%) and a dressage index of 103 (rel 95%).
Dam E-Dream Girl jumped internationally at the highest level with Sören von Rönne after she was successful as a 5-year old and 6-year old in the Bundeschampionat. As of 2004 E-Dream Girl had won 23,167 euros according to German statistics. She is a daughter of Alasca (s Ahorn-Z). Grandmother Valet (s Caprivi) also produced Copperfield (s Cantus) being jumped internationally by Tjark Nagel. Through Caprivi we again find the influential blood of Capitol I.
Conformation description 2005
Cartano is a generously developed, long lined and riding type stallion with an expressive head. The stallion has a nice forehand. The croup is short and straight. The stance of the foreleg is correct. The hindleg is long and poorly muscled. The legs show quality.
Performance Ermelo 2005 (14-03 t/m 01-04)
The stallion completed a performance test in Germany and was accepted for the 21-day test on the basis of that test.
Cartano is an honest, trustworthy and playful stallion with a good attitude. The stallion is very willing to work and he works well.
The walk is pure and should have more power. The trot has more than sufficient scope and has sufficient tact. The hindleg should come underneath more in the trot. The stallion carries himself moderately at the trot. The canter is big with a powerful hindleg that comes underneath well. Cartano can do good transitions at the canter. Cartano has moderate talent for dressage and gives his rider a moderate feeling.
Cartano jumps remarkably well, he is quick and powerful from the ground. The foreleg folds well. The stallion has very good use of the body over the jump, opens well behind and shows much suppleness. He seems careful and shows very much scope. Cartano has very much talent for jumping and gives his rider a very good feeling.
In his stall the stallion appears to be honest and trustworthy. He is nice to work with and is easy to handle.
