Performance test report

Exterior:
Sir Vegas is a strongly developed stallion with good body proportions and a sufficiently rectangular model. The neck has sufficient length with good muscling and arch. The shoulder is long and well sloping. The withers are of good height and extend well into the back. The back is well muscled, and the loins are broad and well muscled. The croup is slightly sloping and of good length. The foreleg is correctly positioned when viewed from the side, with somewhat long and upright pasterns, and slightly toeing-in when viewed from the front. The hind leg is slightly straight with correctly aligned pasterns. The hooves are of good quality, slightly narrow in development with high heels. The bone structure is somewhat heavy, but appropriate for the stallion.

Pedigree:
After being registered with 90 points as a three-year-old, sire Las Vegas went on to win both the Pavo Cup and the stallion competition. Following three selections for the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses, Las Vegas won the KNHS Lichte Tour Championship in 2024 under Diederik van Silfhout. In breeding, this stallion is also proving highly successful, already producing several NMK mares and selected stallions. Sir Vegas is his first KWPN-approved son and comes from an originally Hanoverian dam line. In the third generation this dam line traces back, through the Argentinus daughter Argentina, to a half-sister of the international Grand Prix dressage horse Donna Gracia, who performed successfully under Stéphanie Peters. Through his dam, Sir Vegas carries the valuable genes of top sire De Niro, who for many years topped the WBFSH Sire Ranking thanks to an exceptional line of top dressage horses such as Depardieu, D’Agostino FRH, Desperados FRH, Dablino FRH, Delgado and Donnerfee. Additional performance genes are contributed through the Olympic top sire Don Schufro in the third generation.

Performance test report:
Sir Vegas is a large-framed and impressive stallion. He remains well focused on the rider. The walk shows very good ground cover and activity. At times the stallion still needs support from the rider to maintain a consistently pure four-beat rhythm through the body, but he accepts this guidance well. The trot shows good balance. The hind leg carries well and demonstrates sufficient power. The foreleg shows freedom of the shoulder and good knee action. The canter shows power, balance and a good jump. Sir Vegas transitions easily and at times demonstrates the ability to take more weight onto the hind leg. The contact is consistent and stable, although it could remain slightly softer. He follows the hand well and maintains good balance while doing so. Sir Vegas showed a very consistent performance throughout the test.

Stable behaviour:
An honest and reliable stallion. Easy to handle and calm in the stable.

Veterinary report:
No abnormalities were found.

Sir Vegas can improve size, collection ability, rideability and attitude in dressage horse breeding.

Dam report:
Jardiniro is a sufficiently developed mare with a sufficiently rectangular model, appearing somewhat short-legged. The head is sufficiently expressive. The neck has sufficient length with a slightly heavy head–neck connection. The neck has sufficient shape, good length and sufficient muscling. The withers have sufficient height and are sufficiently long. The shoulder has sufficient angle and good length. The back has sufficient length and sufficient muscling. The loins are somewhat tight. The croup has correct position, is slightly short and sufficiently muscled. The forelegs toe slightly inward when viewed from the front and are correct when viewed from the side. The hind legs are correctly positioned and somewhat long. The front pasterns are of appropriate length and correctly aligned. The hind pasterns are also of appropriate length and correctly aligned. The hooves are sufficiently developed, well shaped and have sufficiently developed heels. The bone structure is appropriate in size and of hard quality. The walk is pure, active and shows sufficient ground cover. The trot is active; the hind leg could step slightly further under the body. The mare shows sufficient foreleg use, suppleness and good balance. The canter has sufficient balance and jump. The hind leg pushes off well and carries sufficiently. Slightly more ground cover and body use could still be developed. At the time of inspection the mare was heavily in foal.
