Neelena VDL wins KWPN championship for five-year-olds

Ridden by Luke Hill, the Harley VDL-daughter Neelena VDL charged to the first victory in Exloo. Displaying a great mindset, sharpness and carefulness on the jump, the mare seized the championship for five-year-old horses.

Triumphal 10 for Extreme U.S. in Pavo Cup

The crowd erupted in a thundering applause when Daniel Bachmann Andersen was in the saddle of the KWPN-approved Extreme U.S. This guest rider could not hide his enthusiasm either and awarded the Escamillo-son the ultimate 10 for their test ride. It secured Extreme U.S. the win in the Pavo Cup for four-year-old horses.

Powerful Mac Toto charges to Pavo Cup victory

​After a win in the semi-final and first round of the final, the Glock’s Toto Jr-son Mac Toto and Danielle Heijkoop had already proved to be the ones to beat in competition for six-year-old horses. Guest rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen awarded the powerful gelding a 9, and that meant Mac Toto sealed the deal in this year’s Pavo Cup.

Everst holds on to lead and wins Pavo Cup

Especial-son Everest is not only a striking appearance because to his eye-catching grey colour but also thanks to his quality. He headed for the second round of the final in the lead and hold on a 9.5 from guest rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen secured him the number one position.

After multiple sports classes, it was time for the three-year-old mares to flaunt their talents one last time. All three-year-old mares first had to qualify via regional inspections and in the morning the best of this group was invited to the championship final. Seven mares vied for the coveted title in that final round. The jury stated: “we are witnessing the top of the bill here”.

‘Exquisite’ winners of National Foal Championships

The National Foal Championships in Ermelo showcased the fine fleur of Dutch breeding. Tobias (s.Ojee-B) won the championship of the Gelder foals, Tamina Delin S (s.Extreme U.S.) was elected best of the dressage foals, jumper foal Talent (s.Emir R) proved to be aptly named and Toline S (s.Macho) danced to the victory in the harness horse ring.

Dr. André Hahn and Tim van Tricht guest judges NMC

This year, the jury team of the National Mare Championships includes two guest judges. Dr. André Hahn is a guest judge in the dressage championship, Tim van Tricht joins the KWPN jury team of the jumper mares.

Information inspection for crossbreeds gets a sequel

Last year, Ermelo hosted the very first information inspection for crossbreeds of KWPN horses and Iberian horses. This information inspection, which attracted great public interest last year, will get a sequel during the KWPN Championships.
